Harriet Harman Labour Attack Bitch

By Tory Aardvark

As Damian McBride is a man and known as one of Labour’s attack dogs, then in line with the prevailing climate of political correctness it would be totally accurate to describe Harriet Harman as Labour’s attack bitch, as she is most definitely female in gender.

Earlier today we reported on the Deputy Labour Leaders smears and lies attack on Shadow Chancellor Geroge Osborne. Harman has subsequently tried to laugh it off as humour, but failed to convince anyone. As they say somewhere a bridge is missing it’s T word

In the latest bit of sad political nastiness Harman is signing recruitment emails for the Labour party which link the Conservatives with the BNP

Please note the link is straight to a Labour website ( so it really is straight from the Harpie’s mouth

Labour Lies and Smears start afresh

By Tory Aardvark

Earlier on today we blogged about the possible glorious return of Damain McBride to the Labour Party’s smear and lies machine.
Latest news looks like there could be more than a grain of truth in this.

Deputy Labour Leader Harriet Harman in her speech today made references to David Cameron giving fox hunting to everyone, following on from this class war howler, she turned on George Osborne and said “He would do away with Surestart and replace it with a lap dancing club in every community”

Scantily Clad Harpie

Scantily Clad Harpie

Georger Osborne was a target for sex smears in the Labour Smeargate campaign orchestrated by Draper, Collins and McBride.

Harman is now trying to write this off as a joke, but consider this you are deputy leader of a party that has been abandoned by a newspaper that has supported you for 12 years, Leader’s make or break speech “Gulags for Slags” has crashed and burned, and even the grand dame of Labour propaganda Tuscan property magnate Polly Toynbee says it’s all over.

What have Harman and Labour got left to lose?

The Guardian speculates about “glorious return” of Damian McBride

By Tory Aardvark

Maybe those left wing hacks at The Gruaniad didn’t take too kindly to Gordon breaking bread with those nasty baby eaters at The Telegraph, the stories appearing since Leader’s coma inducing speech today, have not really been that positive.

Firstly there was the truth behind the ID card shame that HJ has already blogged on

Then this lttle gem got dug up in The Guardian, yet again:

“Ergo Labour falling the wrong side of the tribalist/pluralist divide I wrote about yesterday, precious little movement on the fashionable issue of reinventing the state, and the glorious return of Damian McBride (possibly). Thinktank-man was depressed at the prospect. I can’t say I blame him.” more from John Harris

All three of the editors at Tory A have already been subjected to lies and smears – the usual paedophile references, and we are proud to announce that this blog has also been referred to as obscene. I will admit the odd typo does slip through, but obscene?

They do say the only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about.

Gordon Brown’s Speech at the Labour Party Conference

By Tory Aardvark

Today we took part in Guido’s live blog during the Prime Mentalist’s speech.

The Warm Up Act

The Warm Up Act

From the sickening strains of James’s Sit Down Next To Me to Sarah Browns warm up for the main act, it was all boring, contrived and no one really believed  in what was being said.

The Non Event

The Non Event

On  queue the party faithful stood up and clapped, although they fell short of Mexican wave.

Much will be written about this speech but in reality it contained nothing except promises Brown will never have to keep and the pathetic attempt to smear Tory toffs, all in all Brown’s goose is done to a turn.

Goings on in Brighton

By Tory Aardvark

The Labour conference is underway amid the mixed messages from the slowly withering government and the opinion polls. Once the the major events of the day are over there are all sorts of meetings, bun fights and other gatherings. Here are some interesting snippets in no particular order that have appeared on various blogs and tweets.

Long time Labout propaganda boradsheet the Guardian held a party last night expecting Gordon Brown to show, instead in a suprising lack of sensitivty Brown attended the The Telegraph party instead. As Brown is rapidly running out of friends in the media, one could be forgiven for thinking that he would have been there, but then no one could accuse Brown of political judgement. There was a book called “How Make Friends and Influence People” perhaps the party faithful should be hunting on Amazon for a copy for Leader.

The opinion polls are all over the place yesterday Labour had gained 5%, today they are in third place behind the Lib Dems, the real test will be in the polls when the Conference silly season is over.

Labour activists have allegedly been given the plan for the General Election Campaign, with polling day being May 6th 2010, which would mean the country voting on Local Elections and the General Election on the same day, the other option is to hang on until June 3rd 2010. However with all the indicators that Labour will get hammered Nationally and Locally Brown is unlikely to want to go to the country having just been hammered in the Local elections.

The talk amongst Labour delegates is of doom and gloom, post electoral defeat leadership contests and struggling back from a defeat likely to be worse than that suffered by Michael Foot in 1983. Special advisers are busily updating their CV’s and wondering if they will have a job next summer.
All the indications from various fringe meetings are that following electoral disaster the Labour party will swing massively to the left, which should mean with a bit of luck they are unelectable for at least two generations.

Going back to the Guardian party in the Grand Hotel, they did get one MP drop by Martin McGuiness………….

Peter Mandelson at the Labour Conference

By Tory Aardvark

Maybe it’s me but there do seem to be a lot of Television News Media organisations that have a left of centre agenda.
Take the reporting on Mandelson’s speech, you would be left with the impression that he had filled Carnegie Hall when in reality he packed a few more bums on seats than the Prime Mentalist managed yesterday.

Twice Disgraced Lord Mandelson

Twice Disgraced Lord Mandelson

While having a twitter moment I picked these tweets up from Iain Dale:

Why is @catherine_mayer saying the hall was full to capacity for Mandy when TV pictures prove the exact opposite?! Strange world we live in.

Quite astonshing that Mandelson can’t fill the conference hall. If there was one speech people would want to hear, wouldn’t this be it?

Not quite sure what Mandy is on, but whatever it is, it’s producing hilarious results.

Mandy: “I was born into this party.” How odd that he joined the Young Communist League, then.

The statement that most caught our attention today during Mandelson’s speech was the “If I can comeback we can comeback”; er no Peter the British Public has much higher values and standards of moral integrity that the Labour party of Blair and Brown. They may be happy to welcome back a mollusc into the slime beds, but I think you will find the British voter a whole lot less gullible than you give them credit for.

This is a view shared by Gerald Warner in The Telegraph “Mandy has reinvented himself now as a scrap dealer: it was always his natural vocation. Today he set about strengthening the backbone of The Party We love: “If I can come back – we can come back,” he told an audience of delegates too busy reading the “Situations Vacant” columns to pay much attention. The difference is that Mandy’s comeback was negotiated among his fellow wheeler-dealers in smoke-free rooms, whereas sitting Labour MPs have to get past a more challenging barrier known as the electorate.”
“The spectacle of The Party We Love assembled en masse is not one for weak stomachs. Among the swarming pathogens in the conference hall at Brighton are some of the most toxic agents that have debilitated Britain over the past 12 years

Chris Grayling accuses Brown of attempting to “whitewash” Baroness Scotland’s employment of illegal housekeeper

By Tory Aardvark

This story keeps rumbling ever onwards as Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling has today written to Labour Home Secretary Alan Johnson:
I am writing to you concerning the investigation by the Borders Agency into Baroness Scotland. You will be aware that the investigation was concluded within forty eight hours of the story about her housekeeper first breaking, and that the Agency ruled that she had inadvertently broken the rules for those who employ migrant workers.

“This investigation appears to have been concluded with a speed that is almost unprecedented for such inquiries, and the Agency appears to have reached its conclusion without carrying out a detailed interview with the housekeeper herself. Furthermore the employee’s evidence, as now published in the media, appears to directly contradict that given by Baroness Scotland.

“Given this, it seems extraordinary that the Border Agency appears to have carried out such a cursory inquiry, and reached its conclusions so quickly.

“Can I urge you to reopen the inquiry into Baroness Scotland, and also to carry out a full internal investigation into how this enquiry was handled last week. Can I also ask you to clarify what role Ministers had in the inquiry process, either in setting its remit, in briefings or discussions with Borders Agency officials, or in mandating other Departmental officials to make representations to the Borders Agency about the investigation.

“I am sure that you appreciate the importance of clearing things up and resolving this matter once and for all, but also that the process is thorough and treats Baroness Scotland in exactly the same way as any other employer.”

Chris Grayling Shadow Home Secretary

Chris Grayling Shadow Home Secretary

Previously Chris Grayling has issued this statement:

“This unedifying row just underlines why Baroness Scotland’s position is now completely untenable. But it also raises huge question marks over the way the Home Office and the Prime Minister have handled the case. The Home Office rushed through an investigation without listening to all the evidence, and the Prime Minister exonerated Lady Scotland before the housekeeper had even been questioned. This is increasingly looking like an attempted whitewash that has gone badly wrong.”

You are not alone there Chris, Patricia Scotland is not only above her own laws, she is also protected by the highest echlons of Labour power who WILL stop at nothing to ensure she stays in her job.
The speed at which the rules on peers expenses were U turned is nothing short of amazing.
Today for the first time the resolve to keep defending the Baroness showed the first signs of cracking, with Jack Straw’s last ditch defence of “sexism”, the old and worn out Labour ploy of suffixing a word with “ism” or “ist”.

If indeed there has been a cover up or whitewash then should not those complict in the cover up be brought to account along with the Baroness?
