The Unite Union The Turkeys That Voted For Christmas
Hot on the heels of Unite managing to overturn the High Court injunction stopping the strike comes the news that BA made a loss of £531 million in the year ended March 31st.
Included in the loss total is around £50 million from the last strike called by Unite.
Not included in the total loss figure is the impact of the volcanic ash cloud on flights and bookings.
All airlines have suffered badly in the recession with fewer people flying, increased taxes and a fluctuating fuel prices.
The mentality of a Union and membership that would vote for damaging strike action likely to cost BA another £100 million, really is akin to turkeys voting for Christmas.
When BA closes down and Unite’s membership join the unemployed, any requests for unemployment benefit should be rejected on the grounds that these morons deliberately made themselves unemployed.
