With All These Cuts Why Are We Wasting £50billion On Climate Change Dave?

Times of austerity, we need to make cuts in everything, ministers told to prepare for potential 40% cuts in departmental budgets, government and the people have to cut back so tell me Dave or perhaps your errand boy Little Nicky Clegg can, exactly why is this country going to waste £50 billion a year for the next 40 years on a non-existent problem?

Another of the pointless legacies of Blair and the cursed one eyed son of the Manse is the 2008 Climate Change Act which make us the only country in the world committed legally to making drastic reductions in CO2 emissions.

Lets get this straight there is no money for police, fire, ambulance and many other services, but there is money to ring fence Foreign Aid and money to give to third world dictators via these carbon trading and emissions schemes. Curious set of priorities.

At this point let James Delingpole take up the story:

And the main point, at least as far as British taxpayers are concerned is this: under the terms of the 2008 Climate Change Act we are the only country in the world legally committed to making swinging reductions in CO2, the harmless trace gas which helps plants grow and which we really need more of not less in order to soften the blow of the imminent global cooling.

How much is this lunacy going to cost us? The figure which used to be quoted was £18 billion per annum. Apparently this has now more than doubled.

The new figure our glorious Coalition intends to squander – every single year for the next 40 years – is £50 billion, all in order to deal with a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

Why is that Lord Marland’s boast reminds me so much of my favourite Daily Mash story – the one about ex-chancellor Alastair Darling’s ingenious scheme to pay off the national debt by selling unicorns to the Chinese?

When Dave said he was the natural heir to Tony Blair he lost an election because he is just that, the natural heir to the ginger war criminal.

It was Tony Blair prior to Copenhagen who said the world must act even if the science is wrong and Dave is continuing with business as usual.

When Blair was elected many people said “He’s a Tory pretending to be Labour”, well now they have payback because Dave isn’t really a Tory either and this screwed up mishmash of a Coalition government is only going to give us watered down Labour/Liberal policies because Cameron lacks the balls that Margaret Thatcher had.

Dont get Aardvark wrong this government is way better than anything that the morons at Labour could manage, but what Aardvark didn’t bank on was that Dave is a practicing member of the Church of Climatology.

A lot of promises have been broken, lost or distorted with this coalition, Made Man Climate Change is not believed by the majority of scientists or the public and no amount of whitewash inquiries carefully worded not to ask pertinent questions will change that.

  1. Damn right ‘vark!
‘ Dave isn’t really a Tory either and this screwed up mishmash of a Coalition government is only going to give us watered down Labour/Liberal policies because Cameron lacks the balls that Margaret Thatcher had.’ genius sentence!!

  2. one presumes that the penquin was imported..or the ickle polatr bears hopped on to a iceberg & floated down to the South Pole??
OR perhaps, just perhaps, the penquin answered an advert asking for ” a bird to join some hairy arsed blokes for a bit of spit roasting…”

  3. I thought the conservative party agenda for climate change was mad. Possibly with so much money invested in global climate change the Carbon Credits market will suffer if nothing is done. I read sometime before your election in International Express a paper circulated for ex patriots in Australia that the Green bank was
not going a head as the then government felt that UK couldn’t afford to follow the outlines of cutting CO2
emissions. Brown will be roasting his chestnuts happily after this I feel.
