David Cameron Must Speak Out On Climate Change, Says Top Scientist

David Cameron bothering a dog in the hope of warming alarmist votes

The increasingly desperate warming alarmists are making more and more calls for David Cameron and his “greenest government ever” to “step up to the plate” and provide leadership for their Green economic suicide plan.

The lastest “Top Scientist”, the Guardian’s words not Aardvark’s, to bray for Dave to stand up is Professor Sir David King, religious climate advisor to the disastrous Labour government from 2000 – 2007.

in 2004 King was the man behind the comical theory that Global Warming was a bigger threat to world security than Global Terrorism:

David Cameron must end his silence on climate change and “step up to the plate” to provide international leadership, the former government chief scientific adviser Prof Sir David King says on Wednesday.

Writing in the Guardian, King also reveals that after his declaration that global warming was a greater threat than global terrorism in 2004, then US president, George Bush, asked Tony Blair, then prime minster, for to have him gagged.

King’s warning made headlines around the world at the time. “But I refused to be gagged, and that statement and others spurred the UK to develop a leadership role on climate change among the international community,” King writes.

He argues that the UK’s 2008 Climate Change Act – the most ambitious legally binding emissions targets in the world – along with actions such as its early engagement with China on global warming put the UK at the forefront of global negotiations on climate action in the runup to the UN summit in Copenhagen in 2009. This summit, attended by scores of world leaders, failed to reach a global deal, and subsequent summits have been far less prominent.

“There is, again, a leadership vacuum among heads of states on this issue, just as there was in the early 2000s. Will David Cameron step up to the plate, please?

Yet in his 2004 statement on Global Warming being the biggest threat King said:

Britain is doing its bit to reduce emissions, but acting alone is not enough, he says. “We and the rest of the world are now looking to the USA to play its leading part.

Now only Britain and the EU are still trying to commit economic suicide, King has reduced his objectives and fails to see that if Britain, lemming like chooses to be first over the cliff then the rest of the world will watch, shake their heads in wonderment and move on.

Phil Bloomer at Oxfam, which praised the government’s stance on international aid, said: “If David Cameron wants to lead the greenest government ever, he must urgently take on the international leadership needed to inject fresh life in the UN talks, so the empty climate fund is filled and poor communities can protect themselves from the impacts of climate change.”

King praises the government’s domestic action on climate change. “My cynicism about pre-election statements was squashed with the announcement that the UK will cut its CO2 emissions by 50% by 2025,” he writes, noting that policies on the green investment bank, on improving home energy efficiency, and on reforming the electricity market to deliver low-carbon electricity provide “excellent opportunities for the radical transition to a low-carbon economy”.

He says the UK is once again “setting the bar high for other countries”, but adds: “There has been no statement at all from the government about the need for collective action on the critical issue [of climate change].”

Barry Gardiner MP, who is Ed Miliband’s special envoy on climate change, said: “If Cameron had spent a quarter of a billion pounds tackling climate change instead of bombing Gaddafi, he could have transformed Britain’s energy infrastructure to meet our 2025 targets, protected a million hectares of rainforest from deforestation, or fitted solar [panels] to 100,000 homes. It is clear that he thinks Libyan oil is a bigger priority.”

Friends of the Earth’s senior parliamentary campaigner Martyn Williams said: “The need for bold leadership on climate change is more urgent than ever but the prime minister and leader of the opposition rarely speak out on climate change, and this has created a dangerous vacuum. Urgent action is needed to avoid a climate disaster and reap the huge financial opportunities that would be created by building a low-carbon future.

There is no such thing as a prosperous low carbon future, countries like Spain that leapt on the so called Green prosperity bandwagon have paid the price, their economy in ruins, Chris Huhne has been caught lying about Green jobs for Britain; all the Green economy will bring is unaffordable energy and more energy poverty for Britons.

David Cameron is too astute a politician to get caught standing up when the music stops, at the time Cameron perceived that there was political gain in believing in Climate Religion, well, it was before Climategate that he started bothering dogs in the Arctic.

Cameron can’t have failed to notice that Obama dropped Climate Change after the death of Cap n Trade in the US, Dave can see Julia Gillard dying slowly in Australia and Climate Religion dying globally.

Most policies that are likely to prove unpopular in the Coalition Government are given to the Lib Dem fall guys to sell to the public, Climate Religion being no exception.

Dave’s Lib Dem sock puppets Chris Huhne and Greg Barker are the face of the Greenest Government ever, with Green mumblings from Cameron in the background and Dave allegedly fighting the Green corner in Cabinet meetings.

Cameron is under no illusions that Climate Religion is not believed in the Tory Party, his MEP’s are threatening to rebell over the EU emissions targets, there is disquiet in the Parliamentary Tory party and potential leadership challenger, Chancellor  George Osborne does not buy into the Climate Scam.

When Climate Religion in Britain inevitably goes to hell in a handbasket Cameron will be there, nicely distanced from it all as Huhne and Barker take the fall and Dave will be saying “it was Lib Dem policy I agreed to so the Coalition could govern for the good of Britain

A consummate politician?

Probably, there is one small problem though Dave, about that wind turbine on your roof………..

  1. What David Cameron _really_ needs to do is kill the climate change fraud once and for all, repeal the Climate Change Act and abolish ALL “green taxes” (ideally with refund of amounts already paid)

  2. Peter Mitchell

It is these so called green taxes that are pushing up inflation. Next, these idiots will be watching interests rates being increased by that imbicile at the Bank of England Eddie George the result of which will realy knace the ecconomy.

  3. Food prices are the key. Do these green imbeciles actually want rioting in the streets? The diesel tax alone could do this.

As an aside, I spotted “Europe wide VAT” in the ticker bar on France24 TV yesterday together with “5% increase in EU budget”

  4. Hear hear, but will all those government advisers paid millions to manipulate their hypothesis
on climate change lose their jobs. Well I hope they do, as they have brought down science per se because they will lose any credibility in the scientific academy for ever more.

If governments haven’t woken up to this by now, they should sell all their carbon credits
    before they are worthless.

  5. News like this just makes me want to cry, I see a bleak future ahead of more struggling for me, and an impossible one for my son!
