The Insanity of Carbon Capture And Utilisation

Captured CO2 should be pumped back into the atmosphere as CO2 helps plants grow

Once again the eco-mentalists have excelled themselves with yet another statement of crass stupidity, that is completely at odds with their self appointed mission to remove as much CO2 as possible from our atmosphere.

Once the harmless trace gas, CO2 has been removed and stored under ground at great expense, the CO2 should then be released back into the atmosphere because CO2 helps plants and algae grow.

The benefits of CO2 for plant growth have long been known outside the Church of Climatology:

Passing carbon dioxide through slag left over from steel-making turns the waste product into a strong material that can be used for construction. Pumped into greenhouses, it provides a growing boost for crops. Put into tanks of algae, it can be used to make biofuels. Waste carbon dioxide can even be cleaned up to “food grade” and injected into fizzy drinks.

So the CO2 is removed from the atmosphere only to be released back to help plants grow, and the sense in this, other than obeying religious dogma is?

  1. Don’t they know CO2 can be kept in gas cannisters, like fire extinquishers, and those lovely ones that pump CO2 into your beer. I know I have a picture of a canister we used in the
pub we owned, and we turned the CO2 off each night from the taps and beer barrels.

I bet they have been a pile of pounds to produce this rubbish.
