Britain – Green Taxes Are Crippling The Recovery And The Economy

First the CBI, now the EEF warn the Greenest Government Ever

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) warned the Greenest Government Ever that the suicidal Green policies of the Government and the European Union are crippling British Industry, companies are relocating to economically more favourable countries and Britain is losing jobs as a result.

Now the manufacturers association (EEF) are warning that the tipping point has been reached on the financial impact to business of the blind adherence to climate religion by Chris Huhne and David Cameron:

Artificially forcing up energy prices is indeed a tipping point for many companies. The Government should heed the warning from manufacturing industry.

The manufacturers association the EEF has warned that a ‘tipping point’ has been reached on the impact of Government policy on climate change.

The burdens were making it uncompetitive for industrialists to invest and create jobs in the UK.

The Prime Minister has spoken of wanting a better balanced economy where we ‘make things’ but climate change policy is pushing us in the opposite direction.

Contrary to what the BBC tell us the science of climate change is not ‘settled’.

The evidence over global warming – its existence, extent and consequences – is mixed and a matter of intense controversy among experts.

What is clear is that driving business abroad can not possibly make sense when it comes to saving the planet.

Jobs and prosperity are being sacrificed for a futile gesture.

Added to the costs for manufacturers is the complexity of the regulations and the concern that yet further layers will be added.

While there is widespread public scepticism towards Climate Change orthodoxy there is a general political consensus – punctured by the odd dissenting voice.

The BBC recently produced a report justifying their output offering little challenge to the climate change orthodoxy.

Jobs and prosperity are being sacrificed for a futile gesture, never was a statement more true, Britain proudces just 2% of total global CO2 emissions, the proposed cuts in CO2 emissions are a fraction of one fiftyeth of global CO2 emissions. The price of this futile gesture, Chris Huhne is lost jobs and nearly 6 million households in energy poverty.

Lord Lawson, a former Energy Secretary as well as having been Chancellor of the Exchequer, speaks out in the House of Lords and via the Global Warming Policy Foundation think tank.

Chris Huhne, the Energy and Climate Change Secretary justifies his plans for a ‘carbon floor price’ to drive up fuel bills saying: ‘Left untouched, the electricity market would allow a new dash for gas.’

But Lawson retorts: ‘Indeed, so it would and so it should.

Chris Hune “Left untouched, the electricity market would allow a new dash for gas.”

In other words without the interference of Huhne and his absurd fear of an inert trace gas natural market forces would bring new fuel sources on stream, at affordable prices.

The economy could recover without being hobbled by religious taxes and 2 million households where old age pensioners live would not be in energy poverty.

Instead Cameron and Huhne press on regardless with Climate Religion, in the face of all the evidence, doubts and questions that remain lemming like they intend to lead Britain into the economic abyss.

The big question is why?

  1. Only UK politicians have the excuse of “mad cow disease”, but the madness of the climate change fraud is still sweeping Europe (except for the Czech leader). Why won’t Mercedes or BMW or even Renault or Peugeot) close a factory? That would stop the climate religion in its tracks.

  2. Nigel Lawson, one of the best Chancellor’s this country ever had.

All being well Huhne (the loon) will be locked up soon then hopefuly Cameroon will have a reshuffle and a new brief with ragards enviromental policy.

I am not holding my breath though.

  3. Mind if I nick that “Green Isn’t Working” poster? It’s time to put something new on the back of my car!

    • That “Green isn’t working” poster needs to be on _every vehicle, the front page of every newspaper and a few T-shirts wouldn’t go amiss either

  4. Well let’s hope they take notice of what’s happening in Australia. You’ll enjoy this
the’Convoy of No Confidence’. Available off

But on YouTube also. Catchy tune eh?

You think your politicians have lost the plot? No surely as bad as ours?

  5. I got a strange email I see its not on the comments, its a spoof, and my computer won’t allow it to be opened, just a few numbers. Take care.
