Goregasm – The Guardian Breaks It’s Silence

Guardian: I logged to climatereality and, I have to say, my heart immediately sank

Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality Goregasm has largely been ignored by the main stream media in the UK, US, Australia and Germany where none of the usual suspects for pushing warming alarmist propaganda have sprung to support Gore.

Checking @climatereality timeline on Twitter shows it full of spam bot tweets from the people who have allowed Gore to Tweet from their accounts, apart from the bot Tweets they are very few real people Tweeting. The top Tweet, by Greenpeace has been retweeted just 66 times.

The Guardian have been unusually quiet on the Climate Messiah’s “reality“:

So I was a little nervous this morning logging into Climate Reality – Al Gore’s 24-hour global-warming warning – as to what I might discover. And, I have to say, my heart immediately sank.

A no-doubt sincere presenter from the Solomon Islands was showing slide after slide of extreme weather events around the world that have occurred over the past year and linking everyone, it seemed, to the rise in anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. As anyone who follows the climate debate closely knows, that is a very contentious peg on which to hang your hat. That kind of talk traditionally requires lots of caveats and careful explaining. Done with abandon and raw emotion – as this presenter seemed to be doing – and you are quickly labelled in some quarters as a climate “alarmist”.

And, for me, this is one of the key challenges the Climate Reality project faces. Who exactly is it trying to convince with its urgent, sometimes breathless campaign? Is it preaching to the converted? If so, it is doing a good job.

Or is it trying to win over climate sceptics? I suspect not. I get the sense from Climate Reality’s tone and focus that it believes sceptics are a lost cause who are beyond redemption or reason.

When a warming alarmist like Leo Hickman can clearly see that Gore’s campaign is mainly to surpress dissent by slur and smear then it is hardly surprising that Gore is in trouble.

Recently there have been signs that the Church of Climatology is about to turn on it’s pope with the Polarbeargate scandal, warming alarmist Ian Stirling is blaming Gore for hyping Polarbeargate, in Gore’s religious tome An Inconvenient Truth

Gore’s Climate Reality project is currently crashing and burning in real time so to celebrate  the last word goes to Leo Hickman:

However, I still think there is an important, if difficult, question to be asked: despite all his efforts over the past three decades to raise awareness on this issue, is Gore now a help or a hindrance to the cause he cares so passionately about?

  1. I watched a few minutes of Tonga, and their spokeswomen and man kept blaming erosion
and poor gardening results on climate change. They needed funding to erect more sea walls to stop the erosion and help growing food. They are after financial assistance to repair what they claim is due to climate change (the beastly westies are to blame). But worse is Tony Windsor who said the carbon abatement overseas is amazing. Sure is
Tony W there hasn’t been any?
