There Is No Global Race To Lead In Green Technology
China has often been quoted by the warming alarmists and Green NGOs as a shining example of a country that is behind their Green agenda and helping to lead the way in the race for Green technology which will rollback our civilisation 200 years, or at the very least make our power grid like that of North Korea, where they go to bed when the sun goes down.
In Britain, The US and The EU politicians and warming alarmists endlessly go on about our lead in this, or that unviable Green technology, which would be encouraging were it not for 2 inconvenient truths, no one else is in the race so it matters nothing about having a lead or winning, and whatever Green idiocy is adopted you can rest assured it will cost billions in tax payer funded Green subsidy.
China is far more interested in coal, shale gas, nuclear and hydroelectric power generation, all of which are affordable and reliable:
The Chinese government dealt the public relations strategy of green technology advocates in the Obama administration a blow last month when Premier Wen Jiabao announced that the state-run economy would stop expanding its wind and solar industries, choosing instead to focus on nuclear, hydroelectric and shale — or fracking — as the energies of the future.
“It is getting tougher and tougher for the Obama administration to argue that somehow we’re in this big race for green power worldwide when the rest of the world seems to have decided that the race isn’t worth winning,” Daniel Kish, the senior vice president for policy at the Institute for Energy Research, told The Daily Caller.
President Barack Obama, whose administration has held up solar and wind energy while stunting shale and snubbing hydroelectric, has deployed nationalist lingo, holding the specter of global Chinese green technology dominance as a driving motivation behind the administration’s expensive and embattled green energy subsidy programs. In his 2012 State of the Union address, Obama said, “I will not cede the wind or solar or battery industry to China or Germany because we refuse to make the same commitment here.”
The Big Green propaganda machine has been active from day 1 in painting greed for subsidy as Green credentials, in papers like the Guardian companies are frequently “outraged“, by the governments failing to adopt mandatory carbon reporting or similar Green stupidity, the only reason there is outrage, is because their grasping hands have missed out on another Green subsidy paid for by tax payers.
The Green credentials of the solar industry in Britain showed their true colours when the government went to cut the ludicrous Green subsidy of 42p per KwH and promptly faced a High Court challenge from FoE and 2 solar companies who knew without this rate of tax payer funded subsidy their scam was dead in the water.
China is unique in the history of the world as a mix of communist capitalist the old habits of propaganda from the pure communist regime are still active and manipulating western opinion:
Regardless of American and European drives, in China the focus has always been on hydroelectric and nuclear energy, with just a bone thrown to wind and solar — though that bone has been heavily-publicized by the Chinese government’s newspaper, China Daily, which is distributed for free in Washington.
The Green thing was just another business venture to the Chinese, now they see no economic future in wind and solar it will be abandoned as the global market declines, which will leave US and European politicians still cheerleading a race that only they are in, a race that is destroying economies and killing jobs.
As the sun sets and the population head for bed, because the solar panels don’t work at night and the wind has stopped blowing, we can be content because idiots like Connie Hedegaard made sure we won the race, took the moral high ground and led by an example worthy of lemmings.
