The HadCRUT dataset is the “gold standard” by which the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) measures global temperatures.

HadCRUT consists of monthly sea temperature records compiled by the Hadley Centre of the UK Met Office and land temperature records compiled by the Climate Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, hence the acronym HadCRUT.

The collected data is then variance corrected and the  gaps in data filled in by interpolation, if you are interested in the process then Wkikipedia provides a reasonably good over view of how the process works.

The latest dataset is a major embarrassment for Big Green and their propaganda machine, according to the computer models and Green soothsayers increased levels of atmospheric CO2 should have caused unprecedented mean global temperature rises:

The next UN Climate fiasco is just 88 days away now and just like its predecessors since 2009, COP15 Copenhagen, COP16 Cancun, COP17 Durban and the Rio+20 Earth summit nothing is likely to be achieved.

Climate Change has rated hardly a mention in the US Presidential election, voters go to the polls on November 6th and a Republican win by Mitt Romney will see Climate Change pushed even further off the political agenda.

Even a win by Obama is unlikely improve the situation for Big Green.

More Arctic Sea Ice Hysteria – Again

This summers Arctic sea ice melt has been rapid, in fact one of the most rapid since records began:

“Nuclear is dead!” proclaimed my boss at a staff meeting just days after the Fukushima disaster. “This will be good for us!” he continued, in the wake of 20,000 deaths, not one caused by nuclear radiation.

The myth of Green jobs has long been part of the warmist meme, the transition to a brave new Green Orwellian world where there is limitless carbon free electricity generated by wind and solar, well that would be case were it not for an embarrassing problem known as intermittency, more on that later.

A report in September 2011 by the US House of Representatives concluded that the so called Green jobs revolution had failed globally and there were no such things as long term Green jobs, so the warmists changed the definition of Green jobs to be just about any existing job, for example if you work in a bicycle repair shop that is a Green job, if you work as a clerk in the bicycle repair shop, that is also a Green job.

The problem for wind and solar, apart from intermittency, is that neither technology is economically viable without huge Green subsidies extracted from consumers via taxation, globally as governments have cut subsidies so solar panel and wind turbine manufacturers have cut jobs, or gone spectacularly bust like Obama’s Green flag ship debacle with Solyndra.

Christian Climatologist Preaches Climate Religion

God has promised a new heaven and earth with his second coming, until then we must adopt Climate Religion because God is an intollerant warming alarmist.

Meet Katherine Hayhoe the associate professor of atmospheric sciences at Texas Tech University, director of the university’s Climate Science Centre and a devout Christian.

Hayhoe has married her Christian beliefs, with her belief in Climate Religion, to produce a result that shows she has little understanding of the planet’s atmosphere and demonstrates a ready willingness to regurgitate the usual Green lies and misinformation.

Green Stupidity – Biofuels Cause Hunger

The whole Anthropogenic Global Warming scam has been driven by an irrational fear of CO2, any idea that would reduce the deeply feared carbon emissions was adopted as the politically correct way forward to a Green sustainable future economic disaster.

Spin, fear and cherry picked partial truths have characterised the Green machine in operation, wind farms are allegedly a nice clean form of renewable energy, well they are if you ignore the huge lake of pollution around at  wind turbine magnet manufacturing facility in Batou, China. Out of sight, out of mind as the old saying goes.

It is no secret that the Greens hate cars, well for us ordinary folks anyway,  for Greens at UN COP meetings huge fleets of limos have long been the standard mode of transport.

Realizing that parting people from their cars was not going to happen, the Greens went for biofuels as the politically correct fuel for vehicles.

Biofuels are made typically from corn which is  nice, because it is not a fossil fuel,  so the Green thinking goes make fuel from corn, which is sustainable and cut carbon emissions at the same time.

Dr Patrick Moore The Sensible Environmentalist

Dr Patrick Moore was one of the co-founders of Green NGO, Greenpeace, for several years Moore was chairman of Greenpeace in Canada, until he became concerned at the political direction Greenpeace was taking, and left the NGO.

Moore describes himself now, as a sensible environmentalist who is really concerned about protecting the environment, believes in sustainable development as an environmental objective, not the political sustainable development of the UN and Rio+20.

In January this year Moore upset the Greens when he spoke about wind power “The industry is a destroyer of wealth and negative to the economy”.

Then in July Moore caused more Green righteous anger when he attacked the warmists for their fear of CO2“These people are either completely naive about the relationship between CO2 and plants or they are making this up as a way of “deflecting attention from the lack of warming for the past 15 years.”
