IPCC – “Sandy Was Not Caused By Anthropogenic Global Warming”

World wide storm activity is decreasing not increasing

If there is one thing the Greens and the warming alarmists really get their rocks off on, it is a natural disaster or weather event.

The bigger the loss of life and damage the happier the warmists are, making Green political capital out of people’s suffering is all in a day’s work  for the average Green warming alarmist.

In Green La La land everything is attributable to Anthropogenic Global Warming, or increasing levels of atmospheric CO2, or both.

As the list of Green environmental Armageddon non-events has continued to grow, so the increasingly desperate warming alarmist have turned to event attribution as the way to keep their scam alive, despite warmist scientists saying that event attribution is dangerous and scientifically unsound.

Tropical Storm Sandy was always going to be grabbed by the watermelons as still more proof of their irrational fear of CO2:

Even the minions of the IPCC have denounced the attempts to link climate change to Sandy. ICSC Science Advisory Board member, Dr. Madhav L. Khandekar, an “Expert Reviewer” of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (AR4), said that claims such as McKibben’s are “absolute bunko.” Dr. Khandekar explains how tropical cyclones (called hurricanes in the North Atlantic) are not on the rise worldwide. Global tropical cyclone Accumulated Cyclone Energy(ACE) shows that world wide storm activity is not increasing and has, in fact, declined in recent years.

Dr. Khandekar is not the first IPCC scientist to distance himself from the warming alarmists event attribution foolishness, IPCC Lead Author Myles Allen had this to say about Al Gore, Gore’s Climate Reality Project and event attribution:

When Al Gore said last week that scientists now have “clear proof that climate change is directly responsible for the extreme and devastating floods, storms and droughts that displaced millions of people this year,” my heart sank.

Prepare for some more heart sinking as those that seek to make environmental political capital out of a disaster start baying:

Hopefully, the immediate and widespread denial of claimed linkage between global warming and Hurricane Sandy will stop the spread of such unscientific nonsense. Take note of the names of those who have given voice to this lie—Michael Bloomberg, Al Gore, Bette Midler, Michael Moore, Chris Matthews and so many others—and remember that they have shown themselves to be idiots. Fools like these would take a huge natural disaster like Sandy and make it worse.

Their motivation is, of course, political. The climate is so large and the link to human activity so tenuous that any and all of mankind’s transgressions can be blamed on anthropogenic global warming.

The last word on Sandy goes to the Divine Dimwitted Miss M:

When I asked Midler, dressed as the corpse of CoCo Chanel to go with the evening’s French theme, whether “super” hurricanes like Sandy will change the minds of climate change deniers, she said: “I have no idea. But I know, I know in my heart, the truth. And I will not be swayed. And you know what, if people knew simple physics, they would understand it as well.”
