David Cameron – “Britain Must Be At The Heart Of Shale Gas Revolution”

British Prime Minster David Cameron “We should take part in fracking because this might be a revolution and if we ignored it completely we could be giving our economy much higher energy prices than would otherwise be necessary.”

Finally David Cameron has broken his silence on Climate Change, after a chequered history involving bothering huskies and putting a bijou bird chopper on his roof, Dave has finally woken up to the economic political reality of the Green dream, it is totally unaffordable.

More importantly though, because Dave is a politician, high energy prices do not win votes or create jobs, which also win votes, once being Green was sort of a vote winner now as COP18 has demonstrated the whole AGW boondoggle is dead, and politicians have a severe aversion to hanging around dead political agendas.

The economic benefits of the shale gas revolution in the USA are well known, only in Europe have the Greens managed to delay fracking because it is not politically correct and approved Green tokenism:

Britain must be at the heart of a “shale gas revolution”, David Cameron has said, which could bring down energy prices and help “re-industrialise” the economy.

Giving his public backing for plans to exploit the country’s onshore gas reserves – which is expected to be given the go-ahead by the Government very shortly – Mr Cameron said the new technology could transform our energy supplies.

Re-industrialise the economy the very idea the Greens want to stop, with their pointless and now globally abandoned climate change targets, more taxation for industry and energy bill users, measures guaranteed to choke the life out of any economy.

“I think some in the green movement really want us to rule out gas and opt right now for nuclear plus renewables plus energy efficiency. Zip. That’s it,” he said.

“I think that would be a mistake. It maybe that this gas revolution is really quite transformative and there is going to be a lot more gas and the price won’t be as expensive as some people think.

“We should take part in fracking because this might be a revolution and if we ignored it completely we could be giving our economy much higher energy prices than would otherwise be necessary.”

The warming alarmist reaction was the usual predictable Green drivel:

Professor Kevin Anderson, of the Tyndall Centre at the University of Manchester, told another cross-party committee of MPs that the development of British shale gas will prevent Britain meeting its international commitments on curbing global warming.

“If we are serious about climate change, if we quantify it in relation to our international commitments, we can be absolutely categorical that shale gas cannot be a transition fuel,” he said.

International commitments?

Post COP18 Britain’s only international commitment on Climate Religion, is the rapidly disintergrating Kyoto 2, which in reality is nothing more than an economic suicide pact between the EU and Australia.

The rest of the world including all the major emitters walked away from a deal at COP18, the type of gesture politics advocated by Anderson and the Greens for Britain is a national economic disaster that the rest of the world is not going to emulate.

All this Green Liberal talk of “leading by example“, “taking the moral high ground” is just grasping for straws in the search for something to keep the Anthropogenic Global Warming scam paying out for a little longer.
