Pacific Ocean Is Cooling, But Don’t Worry The Missing Warming Is Still Hiding In The Deep Oceans

The lack of warming for the last 17 years has been due to the Pacific Decadal Oscillation according to a new study by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and supported by the US NOAA.

No warming for the last 17 years has had the warming alarmists and Greens running around like headless chickens in the search for something to attribute the “pause” in Anthropogenic Global Warming to, the current favourite contender is that somehow the missing warming has mysteriously sequestered itself away in the deep oceans, where it lies dormant, just waiting to reappear and fry us all.

A new study by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and supported by the US Government’s National Oceans and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has found that the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) ocean circulatory system is the most likely cause.

A large number of people have heard of the El Niño and La Niña weather systems, for those that have not, and to put it simply El Niño brings warmer weather and La Niña brings cooler weather typically in cycles of just a few years, El Niño and La Niña are part of the PDO, which can last for decades bringing warmer or cooler weather.

The last cooling phase lasted from the 1940s – 1970s, a period of about 30 years, during which the time the warming alarmists, who at the time were cooling alarmists warned that we were all going to freeze to death.

The Russian Coast Guard has threatened to open fire on the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise unless it leaves Russian territorial waters.

Greenpeace have just made a massive miscalculation of who to mess with in the Arctic, in this case Russia.

The story goes like this Greenpeace wanted to go the Northern Sea Route in Russia’s Arctic and protest, for that read, interrupt the search for oil and gas in the Arctic, the Arctic is reckoned to have 13% of the worlds undiscovered oil reserves and around 31% of the worlds undiscovered natural gas reserves.

Entry to the Northern Sea Route is by permit only, Greenpeace applied 3 times, and 3 times the Russians rejected the application, so the nobly motivated watermelons at Greenpeace decided they would ignore the lack of permit and go anyway.

A major miscalculation by Greenpeace, the old USSR might be gone, but the new Russia led by Comrade Putin is little changed from the USSR, now instead of the KGB, there are the incredibly rich oligarchs and Gazprom pulling the strings behind the scenes, with same the ruthlessness that the KGB once did. Democracy and free democratic protest is an anathema to Russians used to centuries of despotic rule by the Czars and 70 years of communist tyranny, and the sort of praise that Greenpeace gets in the west from fawning Liberal politicians is never going to happen in Russia.

The run up to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) like Christmas seems to begin earlier each year, and 2013 is no exception.

Absolutely anything that could be tenuously attributed to Anthropogenic Global Warming is being broadcast by the usual Green propaganda outlets, the UK Guardian is working flat out to keep the scam alive, the story about the dead polar bear on Svalbard, which according to the Guardian starved to death because of global warming, is typical of the shoddy journalism masquerading as Green propaganda, or is it shoddy Green propaganda masquerading as journalism?

Polar bears live on average between 15 – 18 years in the wild and the dead bear in question was 16 years old.

Last years COP18 meeting in Doha was the biggest COP failure yet, ever since the total failure of COP15, and Climategate in 2009 the whole UNFCCC has been in accelerating decline.

Obama’s Settled Science Says So

Barack Obama is keeping up his campaign to fan the embers of the dying of Anthropogenic Global Warming boondoggle, this time with a Twitter campaign #ScienceSaysSo, this is presumably a reference to Obama’s very own science, a science that relies upon Liberal Green political consensus, rather than the real type of science that relies on observed empirical evidence.

Back in 2009 the science was settled for Obama, so 4 years down the road the science is even more settled.

As with all attempts to use social media to keep the fear of CO2 alive, the protagonists just end up preaching to the converted and attracting a lot of flack, just look at what has happened twice to Al Gore and his 24 hours of Climate Fantasy.

This latest failed attempt is unique in that apart from receiving a lot of attention from people who don’t buy into the man made climate change meme, it also attracted criticism from Lady Gaga’s fans:

The Great Texas Fracking Drought That Was Not Caused by Fracking

A very small town in Texas has allegedly run out of water, the cause of the water shortage is of course, facking and the oil industry.

The Greens global campaign against fracking continues unabated with this latest flimsy story from the keyboard of Green junk journalist Suzanne Goldenberg at the Guardian where a very small town in Texas has apparently run out of water.

The story is actually over 2 months old, but in true Grauniad tradition has been dusted off and vaguely presented to appear as though the events are current and that the town is still dry.

To be honest, Goldenberg and yours truly have history, not in the biblical sense, but we have crossed swords on Twitter, the net result being that Goldenberg blocked me on Twitter from following her, or Tweeting with her, quite simply because I asked her question about one of her posts in the Grauniad. The story has naturally been resurrected in the light of David Cameron’s statement on Shale Gas at the weekend that “Britain cannot afford to miss out on Shale Gas”

Liberal Democrats Plan To Ban All Petrol & Diesel Vehicles By 2040

If Britain’s Liberal Democrats have their way,  then cars like this Jaguar F Type will be banned from the Britain’s roads by 2040.

Liberal stupidity knows no bounds, not because all Liberals are stupid by any means, but mainly because the Liberal mindset is incapable of thinking anything through beyond the initial knee jerk and feel good factor, “that reduces carbon, therefore it must be a good idea“. More often than not, the ill considered cure turns out to be far worse for all concerned, that the alleged problem it was supposed to fix.

The latest ill thought through Liberal idea concerns petrol and diesel cars which for personal transport use the Liberal Democrats want banned from Britain’s roads no later than 2040, despite the fact that there is little sign that viable and affordable electric cars and vans will be available by then.

At the beginning of the 20th Century there was a very real problem with horse emissions in London, there were so many horses and the were numbers increasing steadily so that by 1920 the alarmists were predicting that London would be knee-deep in horse turds, then the internal combustion engine became viable and horse numbers dropped rapidly and the problem cured itself, notably without any interference from politicians with a Green Liberal and Socialist agenda.
