The Green Socialist Hypocrisy Of Ed Miliband

Have you ever wondered how and why UK energy prices have risen so fast? The man to thank is Ed Miliband and the Climate Change Act he pushed through Parliament.

Politicians in the main are a pretty sickening breed, politicians of the socialist persuasion particularly so, when socialism and Green are mixed then be prepared for some truly sickening hypocrisy.

Take for example one Ed Miliband, leader of the British Labour Party and an ardent supporter of that global left wing cause célèbre the Green Agenda.

It is no secret that polling wise Ed Miliband is about as popular as a dead skunk in an elevator, so with the usual socialist shape shifting that Labour do so well, Ed Miliband is trying to buy votes by saying that a Labour government would freeze energy prices for 2 years if they were elected.

On the face of it, nothing wrong with that statement,  were it not for the fact that Miliband had also committed Labour to the lunacy of 2030 decarbonisation targets, like they say dumb can be cured, stupid is forever.

Russians Charge All Greenpeace Activists On Arctic Sunrise With Piracy

All Greenpeace activists on the Arctic Sunrise have been charged with piracy by the Russians.

The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise has been towed into the northern Russian port of Murmansk, and all 30 activists have been charged with piracy by the Russian authorities.

The story is still breaking so is there is a certain amount of variance between the reports coming in.

Russia filed piracy charges Tuesday against Greenpeace activists who tried to climb onto an offshore drilling platform in the Arctic owned by the state-controlled gas company Gazprom.

The activists are on a Greenpeace ship, the Arctic Sunrise, which was seized last week by the Russian Coast Guard and towed Tuesday into a port near Murmansk.

It was unclear how many of the 30 activists on board face piracy charges, which carry a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years and a fine of 500,000 rubles (about $15,500). The Investigative Committee, Russia’s federal investigative agency, said it would question all those who participated in the protest and detain the “more active” among them.

The story of Greenpeace’s major miscalculation in boarding a Russian oil rig has dropped off the news in most western MSM outlets, however the story is still very much alive and kicking.

Greenpeace’s ship Arctic Sunrise is currently under tow by a Russian tugboat after the ship’s captain refused to steer the ship, and is due to dock in the northern Russian port of Murmansk sometime on Tuesday, after bad weather allegedly caused the tug to slow down.

The crew of the Arctic Sunrise is under arrest in the mess room of the ship and all 30 activists including 4 Russian nationals have been held incommunicado ever since they were arrested.

About a month ago Greenpeace went head to head with the Russian Coastguard, after being refused a permit to enter Russia’s Northern Sea Route, Greenpeace went anyway.

The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise was boarded by 4 Russian Coast Guard officers who subjected the ship and its crew to a lengthy inspection, during the course of which the Captain of the Coast Guard ship told the Arctic Sunrise to leave the area immediately or strict measures would be used. For strict measures read the threat to open fire on the Greenpeace ship with real live ammunition, starting with a shot across the bows and if that didn’t work then incoming would be the order of the day.

The Arctic Sunrise slunk away, Green tail between its legs only to reappear today in the Pechora Sea off the northern coast of Russia with the intent of boarding the Prirazlomnaya rig, in a repeat of last years occupation protesting about drilling for oil in the Arctic.

The outcome of COP14 was as always with COP meetings the gateway to the big deal on Climate that was going to happen at the next COP meeting, in this case COP15 in Copenhagen.

As COP14 progressed there was no sign on the horizon of the gathering storms clouds of Climategate, the Greens, warming alarmists and Liberals were confident, the election of the Boy King Obama in the US was going to bring the impetus to force through the climate deal in Hopenhagen.

It is nearly 12 months since Comrade Connie Hedegaard was forced to suspend the EU’s Green flying tax, 12 months on the Green flying tax is still as popular as a skunk in an elevator.

On January 1st 2012 the EU’s Green tax on flying became law, from the outset there was global opposition to the tax which is part of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

Despite claims to the contrary by the usual Green suspects and Comrade Connie Hedegaard there is no global support for a Green tax on flying, China has threatened a Trade War  over the tax, and the followed the threat up by  freezing orders for Airbus aircraft worth US$ 14bn.

China was not the only voice of opposition to the Green tax, in the USA the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly against participation in the EU scheme, India instructed it’s airlines not to submit Carbon Tax Data to the EU. That was just the tip of the iceberg, there was strong opposition from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Paraguay, Qatar, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the member States of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC)
