There is always a danger that when repeating your own propaganda and lies, you brainwash yourself into believing your own lies.
Take for example the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), AOSIS is a coterie of 43 Island nations all cynically repeating the we must prevent a 2°C temperature rise, claiming that their islands are sinking beneath the non rising sea levels, and in the case of the Maldives planning a new airport to be in service long after the islands were allegedly going to disappear.
As COP18 grinds inexorably towards failure, the people attending refuse to acknowledge that there has been no warming for 16 years, a period longer than the warming period that underpins the whole Anthropogenic Global Warming boondoggle. Read the rest of this entry
This years UN Climate Circus meeting in Doha, COP18 is a very strange beast, there is distrust of the COP18 President, the host nations stance on Anthropogenic Global Warming, Kyoto and the Long term Cooperative Action (LCA) are coming to an end with no successors likely to emerge, the Green NGOs have found out that they are now largely peripheral to the whole process and the USA has said they will not commit economic suicide by signing up to a climate deal.
On November 26th the COP18 climate negotiators started work on agreeing the texts for the Ministers who fly in on December 3rd to hammer some sort of agreement out of, against this background of mutual distrust, the host nation Qatar wants to trash all the work done by the negotiators and produce new texts with selected ministers, behind closed doors.
Rewind to 2009 and COP15 Copenhagen, the then hosts Denmark did exactly what the Qataris propose and COP15 ended with arguments, no agreement and bitter disappointment for the outcome of Hopenhagen.
Only at COP18 against a background of distrust, loathing and division could the host nation use the very same tactic that helped to ensure that COP15 was a massive failure: Read the rest of this entry
There is an almost morbid fascination watching the annual UN Climate Circus meeting doing what it does every year, become a slow motion car crash, especially coming so soon after the Rio+20 Earth Summit crashed and burned so badly.
COP18 has gone badly from the start on Monday, there is suspicion that the COP18 President Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah worships Shale Gas and not the politically correct ManBearPig religion, no one is quite sure where Qatar stands on being terrified of CO2, the Green NGOs are being ignored and then to add insult to injury, the evil Climate Change denying Poles have been chosen to host COP19.
Then of course, when you think that things cannot get any worse, they do: Read the rest of this entry
Day 4 and COP18 struggles on in an ever growing climate of mistrust about the host nations position on climate change, accusations of delaying and stalling tactics by some countries and anger regarding the choice of the COP19 host nation, Poland.
The current impasse revolves around the Long term Cooperative Action (LCA) and the need for an agreement, without this agreement the 2015 plan to reduce emissions will not happen.
The negotiators are rushing to complete a draft before the Ministers fly in to Doha on Monday: Read the rest of this entry
Life is full of surprises, like holding a UNFCCC COP meeting in Qatar, one of the worlds largest natural gas producers and as far as the Greens and ecomentalists are concerned, a country with an ambiguous position on Anthropogenic Global Warming.
The environmental circus in Doha is full of mistrust and suspicion of the COP18 President Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah who is a supporter of the evil Shale Gas, so the choice of Poland for next Conference of the Parties (COP) 19 is quite frankly bizarre.
Poland’s position on Climate Change is most definitely not ambiguous, Poland has consistently blocked further attempts by the EU and Connie Hedegaard to implement their Green Dream: Read the rest of this entry
There is one giant fracking elephant in the COP18 room, Shale Gas, and the statement by the COP18 President earlier this month that Shale Gas was good for the world.
The first day of COP18 ended with a climate of parnoia, mistrust and suspicion, Day 2 is seeing the mistrust of the host nation continuing to grow.
The problem is that no one seems to know where the Qataris actually stand on the de-carbonisation aims of the conference, Qatar is a massive producer of natural gas, their deputy Prime Minster Al-Attiyah is an enthusiastic supporter of Shale Gas and President of COP18, but their satellite news channel Al Jazeera has been pumping out Al Gore style Climate Reality fear stories in the run up to COP18. The UNFCCC COP18 opened in Doha today, though the event passed with hardly a mention from most MSM outlets, the Guardian of course rallied to the cause with 2 posts, the first a diatribe of loathing about rich countries and the west, the other was pushing for something that always quickens the pulse, and sets the knees trembling of the average warming alarmist, a new Green tax, this time on emissions from ships.
COP18 is a curious beast, there is no doubt that attendance is down from previous COPs like COP15 in Copenhagen, then there was the very strange announcement from COP18 President Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah earlier this month that “Shale Gas was good for the world“.
The Green NGOs like Greenpeace, WWF and FoE have already picked up on the Shale Gas statement and are crying about it, then there is the internecine fighting between various factions of the warming alarmists none of which is leading to an atmosphere of trust and goodwill for the negotiations: Read the rest of this entry
With little over a week to go until COP18 starts, there are increasing signs that the Anthropogenic Global Warming boondoggle is disintegrating at an ever increasing pace.
Attendance is down to a lower level than COP17, so slow has the take up for visas been that, the counter for visa applications was removed from the COP18 website.
Then in one of the strangest statements to ever come out of the UNFCCC, the COP18 President, Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah declared that Shale Gas was good news for the world as it would provide energy security for the next 300 years, which is poles apart from the UN official meme of abandoning the use of fossil fuels.
Now the United States has suggested that the UN is not the best place to ever achieve a climate deal: Read the rest of this entry
One thing that nobody ever expected to hear from a president of a UN Climate Circus meeting is that shale gas is a good thing for the world.
Climate Religion has finally had its Martin Luther moment, sacrilege is being preached from the pulpit of the Church of Climatology.
Attendance at COP18 is likely to be even lower than last years dismal attendance for COP17, as witnessed by the removal of the visa applications counter from the COP18 website.
Al-Attiyah’s statement about shale gas is not the meme the warming alarmists expect from a UN Climate Circus Ring Master: Read the rest of this entry
