Environmentalists – Airline Ticket Prices Need To Soar To Drive Down Demand
Posted by Tory Aardvark

Latest Green environmental report on flying says ticket prices will need to rise sharply to drive down demand to reduce CO2 emissions.
The environmentalists are back on the air travel theme again, a couple of years after the EU’s failed attempt to introduce a flying tax crashed and burned.
This latest report from the University of Southampton is a classic Green works with the usual suppositions, assumptions, massaged data and the final appeal to authority to enforce the reports findings.
Any campaign be it political or military, depends upon winning the hearts and minds of those you seek to join with you, it is one of the blessings of the human condition that authoritarians have through out history failed to grasp this important point.
Make no mistake about it, Greens and environmentalists are all about authority, they continually want their belief system enforced upon the rest of the population by taxation or law, frequently both. Read the rest of this entry →
EU Flying Tax – The Return Of The Green Albatross
Posted by Tory Aardvark

It is nearly 12 months since Comrade Connie Hedegaard was forced to suspend the EU’s Green flying tax, 12 months on the Green flying tax is still as popular as a skunk in an elevator.
On January 1st 2012 the EU’s Green tax on flying became law, from the outset there was global opposition to the tax which is part of the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
Despite claims to the contrary by the usual Green suspects and Comrade Connie Hedegaard there is no global support for a Green tax on flying, China has threatened a Trade War over the tax, and the followed the threat up by freezing orders for Airbus aircraft worth US$ 14bn.
China was not the only voice of opposition to the Green tax, in the USA the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly against participation in the EU scheme, India instructed it’s airlines not to submit Carbon Tax Data to the EU. That was just the tip of the iceberg, there was strong opposition from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Paraguay, Qatar, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the member States of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC)
Then last November in the biggest Green climb down so far Comrade Connie was forced to suspend the Green flying tax for 12 months:
US Says No To EU Flying Tax
Posted by Tory Aardvark

First the House of Representatives, now the US Senate have passed a bill that stops US airlines taking part in EU Flying Tax
The Green EU flying tax that came into force on January 1st 2012 has not been a success, the hollow Green lie of there being a global consensus to act on Climate Change, all that is needed is the fine print, has never been more hollow, as the global reaction to EU’s unilateral flying tax has shown.
From the outset there were rumblings of a Trade War from China, as the row progressed, so China froze deals for new aircraft with EU Aircraft Manufacturer Airbus worth around US$ 14bn.
The EU Flying Tax has been seen around the world as the EU imposing a unilateral tax on flying to try to get additional funds to try to stop the sinking Eurozone, from sinking. Read the rest of this entry →
Green Rollback Next The EU Flying Tax
Posted by Tory Aardvark
January 1st 2012 the EU announced that it was unilaterally imposing a flying tax on all flights in, and out of the European Union.
The news of the EU Carbon tax on flying was greeted with global hostility, even before the tax became law China was warning of a trade war with the EU, by January 5th 40 Nations were opposed to the Green taxation, and by early February 2012 China and India had both decided not to submit any data to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
In March this year, Germany increasingly nervous about the economic impact of the EU flying tax was telling the EU to abandon the tax, even Barack Obama has called on the EU to abandon the “Lousy Tax Carbon Tax on Airlines“
The EU’s Climate Commisar, Comrade Connie Hedegaard was typically Green blinkered and insisted the EU would force this flying tax on the world: Read the rest of this entry →
Air Wars The EU vs The Rest Of The World

Air Wars – The EUs flying tax rejected by 30 nations, prepare for trade wars, aircraft being impounded, increased airfares and more economic misery for Europe.

As usual nothing will dissuade Comrade Connie Hedegaard and the other unelected Green zealots at the Puzzle Palace in Strasbourg from following the Julia Gillard example and diving headlong into the abyss: Read the rest of this entry →
China Bans It’s Airlines From Taking Part In EU Emissions Trading Scheme
Posted by Tory Aardvark
On January 1st 2012 the EUSSR decided to impose a Green tax on flying, where any airline flying into EU airports has to pay financial tribute to the Church of Climatology.
Globally there has been huge opposition to the Green tax on flying, in the USA the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly against taking part in the EU ETS, India decided that no Indian airlines would submit data to the ETS and China immediately warned of a global trade war with the European Union.
The EU are still trying to spin the Green taxation to save us all from the lack of global warming, the rest of the world sees this as another Green tax too far. Read the rest of this entry →
The EU’s Doomed Flight Of Carbon Taxation
Posted by Tory Aardvark
We live in a world where increasingly, as Martin Sheen’s character in Apocalypse Now observed, “the clowns have taken over the circus“.
The EU is a case in point, almost bankrupt as the single currency implodes explodes disintergrates, the EU still clings to Climate Religion and CO2 emissions limits, left behind by a world that has moved on from the Great Man Made Global Warming Scam.
From January 1st 2012 the EU will levy a Green tax on flying, opposed by the US, China, India and 40 other countries and despite the very real risk of a global trade war nothing can dissuade those blinded by the light of Green socialism and wealth redistribution from their course.
The damage caused by this pointless Green tax, which is heaped upon the myriad number of other Green taxes EU citizens already get stung for, will be far more damaging than the increase in costs for flying and transportation that will inevitably follow. Read the rest of this entry →

Posted by Tory Aardvark
On January 1st the EU started levying its Green flying tax on all flights in and out of the European Union.

EU Faces Isolation And Retaliation Over Green Airline Tax
Posted by Tory Aardvark
The chances of the EU becoming isolated from the rest of the world are growing by the day as global opposition mounts to the Green airline tax the EUSSR is planning to implement from January 1st 2012.
The US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly against taking part in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) declaring Congress and the United States government will not support this ill-advised and illegal EU tax scheme.
Indian airlines will not submit any data to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, in total 43 countries are far from happy with the EU’s Green airline tax: Read the rest of this entry →
