Has Jacqui Smith Re-Invented Herself As Hyacinth Bucket

By Tory Aardvark

Question Time this week was a lot more entertaining than last week for Aardvark because Jacqui Smith was on the show, and if there is one political thing Aardvark enjoys, it’s watching the Redditch Saddleback squirm whenever the topic of her expenses is raised.
When the show started it looked like Hyacinth Bucket had been a last minute substitution for the former Home Secretary,

then Hyacinth spoke and the dawn of realisation hit, it’s Jacqui Smith.

A few days earlier we picked up a Tweet that Smith was going to be on the program in SMS (Save My Seat) mode, and indeed Jacqui was seat saving like there was no tomorrow, which for her political career is probably true.

For Jacqui Smith Mark 2 the socialist progressive teacher look is gone, now we have the Hinge and Bracket music teacher look, black sober and with a pearl necklace.

Was tonight’s performance the usual lacklustre affair that we have come to expect from Smith? Read the rest of this entry

Jacqui Smith will be on Question Time this week and she is in SMS mode (Save My Seat) according to Nadine Dorries.

Smith’s performance was not good, especially with Mr Smith in the audience and people keep mentioning those 2 movies

Some might say that Jacqui Smith is the best example as to why AWS are not a good idea, Aardvark is one of them.

Question Time Last Night

By Tory Aardvark

There will be endless articles written about Question Time last night and Aardvark is not going to pontificate at length about the program except to say that Nick Griffin as a political heavy weight has less presence than Hazel Blears; which given his policies of hate is just as well. Baroness Warsi was impressive and talked a lot of sense, and was both politically and intellectually several leagues above Griffin.

What really made my ears twitch was when Dimbleby said “Jacqui Smith will be on the program in 2 weeks time”, the audience reaction was to boo.

Jacqui Smith is a member of the Labour Political Elite as is not subject to the same laws as us plebs. This has been another cynical and spectacular white wash by Labour again.

Bet you never thought when you saw the headline it was going to be about the Saddleback from Redditch.

Jacqui Smith – Enough is Enough Say The People of Redditch

By Tory Aardvark

The mealy mouthed apology from Jacqui Smith has bombed badly with the voters in her Redditch constituency, as Gordon Brown’s Labour again let one of its own off the hook.
There is one rule of law for Labour politicians and one rule of law for the rest of the population.

The scandal of MP’s expenses has done little to improve the contempt that the public have for their politicians, how could the Standards and Privileges Committee seriously believe that a verdict like this would increase public trust in MP’s? On every occasion Labour has protected it’s own at the expense of the credibility and integrity of Parliament.

The actual makeup of the Standards and Privileges Committee on the day the verdict was reached was 5 Labour MP’s and 1 Conservative, so with a 5:1 majority Labour again protected one of it’s own and justice was not done.

With their usual arrogance Labour have just assumed it would all blow away and in due course Smith would be elevated to the House of Lords, after the General Election.

This time it looks unlikely as people have finally had enough of Labour and it’s one rule for us and one for them.

A campaign to remove Smith has gathered over 5,000 signatures, but Smith of course will not step down as her constituents “need her”.

The Redditch Advertiser has details of Smith’s grudging apology; the interesting part is the comments from the voters of Redditch.

As is so typical of the New Labour MP Smith will doubtless hang on until May for her gold plated pension and further opportunities to trough from the Public Purse.

Jacqui Smith Labour Protect Their Own Again

Watch Jacqui as the coven looks adoringly on and gives her support

As per usual Labour have closed ranks and demonstrated that there is one rule of law for the political elite, and another rule of law for everyone else; such is the arrogance and contempt Brown and his Labour government have for the population.

Due to a promotion and various commitments on the day that the Standards and Privileges Committee met there were 5 Labour MP’s and 1 Conservative MP.
Why was the meeting to discuss Smith not postponed until there could be a fair and balanced committee?

The typical Labour whitewash that they are trying with Baroness Scotland and will doubtless try with Harriet Harman.

The Times says her career is ruined; The Telegraph doubt that she is sorry.

Sir Thomas Legg can still order her to pay the money back or the public can take action against her, Guido on the BBC News.

Jacqui Smith – It’s not looking good

By Tory Aardvark

Storm clouds are gathering on the event horizon for former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.

Jacqui Smith disgraced former Home Secretary

Smith while Home Secretary caused deep public anger about her living arrangements and the rented room at her sisters house that was her “main home”, and then iced the cake by claiming for two porno movies watched by her husband. The Smiths and the Harmans are friends, one can only wonder if Mr Smith was welcome in Ms Harman’s home after the porn movies scandal.

With the quiet of the summer recess many of the MP’s must have thought that the expenses scandal would go away, but despite the promotion of the former Standards and Privileges Committee’s chairman Sir George Young to the Conservative Front Bench, the committee is still functioning and last Wednesday met to discuss Smith’s fate.

The rumours circulating in Westminster are that it’s unlikely to be anything but bad news, as the only thing members of the committee will say regarding Smith is “No Comment”

Interesting enough the pro Labour team of Adam Boulton at Sky News are campainging to have former Labour Minister Chris Mullen parachuted in, but the story goes the next Chairman will be a Conservative MP. Probably explains the pro Labour censorship on the Sky News discussion site.

Lest we forget – The Cabinets Expenses

With all the other political news perhaps it is time to remember the Expenses Scandal and the troughing done by Cabinet Ministers
