The Classic Green Non Story – Coal Assets Could Be Halved If…..

Coal assets could be worth less than half of their current market value if the world agrees tougher climate targets according to a report by the bank HSBC

“If is the middle word in life” said Marlon Brando’s character Colonel Kilgore in the movie Apocalypse Now.

Generations of computer programmers know If is a conditional, as in the conditional If, used in many programming languages, only in warming alarmist world are conditionals an absolute, where if and could, are actually synonyms for will.

When you couple this skewing of language with vested interests reporting on vested interests, you end up with the a classic Green non story like “Value of coal assets ‘could be halved’ if world goes low-carbon“.

Conditionals are of course based upon probability, and obviously there is a chance that the entire world could decide to believe the Green meme, leave fossil fuel reserves in the ground and decide to follow a dimly lit future based upon intermittent Green approved energy generation.

A Week in Green Warming Alarmist World – Communism, Fear and Blame

If 2013 was the worst for the Big Green Machine since records began, then 2014 is rapidly shaping up to be an even worse year with the Green decline slipping into hyper drive as more politicians run away from the Green Agenda.

There have been far too many Green stories to write about all of them so here goes with a weekly roundup.

First off the blocks is Christiana Figueres head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) who thinks that the only answer to stop the global warming that isn’t happening is Communism. Figueres is a long time communist and protegé of the late Hugo Chavez, and was among those that cheered Chavez’s infamous COP15 silent and terrible ghost in the room speech which referred to capitalism and democracy.

Being Green is all about blame and fear, blaming someone or something so that you have something to fear, bread and butter to the warming alarmist industry. So no surprises then in a new Green report they have finally decided on a country to blame for Global Warming

Warmists Already Lowering Expectations For 2015 COP21 Agreement

The road map to COP21, note the beginning of the end of fossil fuel use scheduled for 2016.

There was a departure last year at COP19 with the warming alarmist industry scaling down the expectations of exactly what COP19 would achieve, which was just well, because in addition to being the 5th successive UNFCCC COP meeting in a row to crash and burn, COP19 showed the cracks appearing in the Green agenda.

All the Green NGOs and other self proclaimed representatives of civil society, walked out of the meeting when the western world refused to pay trillions of dollars in so called “Climate Justice” money. The cake was then truly iced with an awesome bout of name calling between Venezuela and the EU Climate Commissar Connie Hedegaard, who blamed Hedegaard not only for the failure of COP19, but also COP15.

The spectre of COP15 haunts the warming alarmist pysche, the high water mark of Green ambition, it has all been downhill since 2009.

So ingrained into the Green collective memory is COP15, they now believe that politicians will not reach a meaningful deal because they are frightened of having another COP15 debacle at COP21.

Now About The Coming Ice Age

The whole world has had a chance to have a long laugh at the antics of a bunch of warming alarmists scientists and Green propagandists from the BBC and The Guardian getting trapped in Antarctic sea ice.

The stupidity and religious belief in their own propaganda got these Green fools into a mess of their own making, which has happily ended with no loss of life or injury, just a huge amount of carbon pollution from dirty ships bunker fuel, and aviation emissions from the Chinese helicopter that rescued the fools.

The explanations as to why the ice was so thick have ranged from the ludicrous “Sea ice is disappearing due to climate change but here it is building up“, once the global laughter had died down Turney admitted it was weather not climate that had caused the huge build up in Antarctic sea ice.

So the big question is are we headed for a new ice age?

COP19 Postmortem – Bring On The Green Turd Polish

Even sprinkling glitter on COP19 won’t make a shine, dull or otherwise

The COP19 Climate Circus has finally ended, despite the Greens and wealth re-distributors setting the bar for success this year, even lower than in previous years, COP19 still failed to deliver.

The pattern for acrimony was set at COP15, Copenhagen in 2009 and in each successive COP meeting the acrimony and bickering has got worse, culminating in the unelected Green NGOs walking out of COP19 after the wealth re-distribution scam know as loss and damage failed to gain much traction.

COP19 was a disaster, just as much on the global stage as in the stadium in Warsaw.

Overshadowed by coal in Poland, 60 countries did not send ministers to COP19 thus preventing any global agreement from being signed, Australia and Canada said they were not going to give any more money away, Japan decided to reduce its CO2 ambitions drastically and in Britain David “Call me Dave” Cameron was oozing snake oil and possibly muttering darkly about Green Crap.

Against this background COP19 headed into overtime and at the eleventh hour, for the fifth successive time, produced an agreement that was worth less than the paper it was printed on.

The Pre COP19 Climate Of Fear

6 days and COP19 Warsaw will start, in past years the run up to the failed COP meeting is always preceded by a climate of fear. 2013 is no exception, although the things we should be frightened of are less imaginative than usual, however the most upsetting event of all is way too awful to mention in a picture caption.

In just 6 days time COP19 Warsaw will start, in preparation for this next UNFCCC slow motion car crash the Big Green propaganda machine has been at work thinking up new things we should all be terrified of, because of Climate Change.

The choice of Poland to host COP19, has at best been controversial, as far as the Green boondogglers are concerned, they know the game of Green charades that played out in COP18 Doha last year is a portent of the things to come in Warsaw.

So what should we be all be terrified of in closing weeks of 2013?

The IPCC will be publishing its fifth assessment report (AR5) on September 27th and the report is going to do more damage to the warmists claims of impending environmental Armageddon. Damage limitation exercises are underway with Green propaganda outlets like the Guardian running stories about the 5 stages of Climate Denial and ad hominem attacks on journalists in the Telegraph and Daily Mail.

EU Climate Commissar Connie Hedegaard is spouting the meme that even if the science is wrong then it should still be business as usual for the Big Green money making machine. Comrade Connie pragmatically thinks that wasting £174 billion every year for a problem that does not exist makes complete sense.

The Death Rattle Of The UN Climate Process

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for the UN Climate process scam boondoggle which has been in terminal decline since the massive failure of COP15 in Copenhagen, back in 2009.

Since then each successive COP meeting has been a more spectacular car crash than it’s predecessors, the last COP18 saw the end of the Kyoto Protocol and no real successor to the only global treaty on emissions. In a desperate attempt to achieve something the COP18 President, Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah forced a number of measures through as the meeting was closing, that post COP18 have subsequently caused way more problems than they solved at the time.

Ignoring the observed empirical evidence of the COP18 failure the EU Climate Commissar Connie Hedegaard wrote a long article for the UK Guardian on December 14th 2012 claiming that COP18, was in fact a success, it was just the success was hiding in the deep oceans with the missing warming, or something like that.

Ever since COP15 in Copenhagen, each successive year’s Conference of the Parties (COP) has been a bigger failure than it’s predecessor, COP18 was even by the standards of the UNFCCC, a spectacular failure, the delegates left Doha without any of the major emitters making a new pledge to cut their CO2 emissions.

The chances of a global climate deal have receded to virtually nothing, Canada has turned it;s back on Kyoto, and already this year Russia has said it will never sign up for Kyoto 2.

The US under Obama will not sign up for anything that harms the US recovery, China plays a game of pretending to be Green will getting on with their economic expansion and India is unlikely to sign up to anything that will stop India’s economy growing.

However for some people in the Green boondoggle this reality, and the reality of the standstill in global temperature for what will be 20 years according to the UK Met Office,  has still  to sink in:

2013 Will Be The Worst Year For Warmists Since Records Began

The only international agreement on being terrified of CO2, the Kyoto Protocol finished at the end of 2012. With no chance of a new Kyoto Treaty being signed up to by the major emitters 2012 ended with another nail hammered into the Green coffin.

2012 was an unprecedented year of disaster and defeat for the Greens and warming alarmists, it was a year that on the face of it offered much hope to the watermelons, in June there was going to be  the Rio+20 Earth Summit, COP18 in Doha was going to build on the progress of COP17 and the Durban Platform and the European Union was going to single-handedly enforce a flying tax on the world.

Instead it all went to hell in solar powered hand cart, as Green defeat followed Green defeat.

On January 1st 2012 the EU announced the start of its Green flying tax on all flights in and out of the EU, as global opposition to the Green tax mounted, Comrade Connie Hedegaard, the EU’s unelected Climate Commissar remained bullish and insisted that the world would bow down to her Green will.

Many nations including the US, China and India prohibited their airlines from taking part in the EU flying tax amid threats of a trade war, particularly from China. Finally in November Hedegaard and the EU backed down and suspended their Green flying tax for forever 12 months.
