Climategate – Philip Campbell Quits Climategate Review Panel

Philip Campbell chief editor of Nature has been forced to quit an independent panel investigating the Climategate emails after saying there was no evidence of a cover up.

Campbell made his comments just hours after the launch of the review panel.

Campbell’s comments are the usual “nothing to see here” or that other favourite “they are using jargon”, hardly impartial comments to make at the start of a review.

A member of an independent panel to investigate claims that climate scientists covered up flawed data on global warming has been forced to resign after sceptics questioned his impartiality.

Philip Campbell, editor in chief of Nature, stepped down from the panel yesterday, just hours after its official launch, after an interview emerged in which he said there was nothing to suggest a cover-up by climate scientists at the University of East Anglia.

Resigning, Campbell said: “I made the remarks in good faith, on the basis of media reports of the leaks. As I have made clear subsequently, I support the need for a full review of the facts behind the leaked emails. There must be nothing that calls into question the ability of the independent review to complete this task, and therefore I have decided to withdraw from the team.”

Campbell was invited to sit on the panel because of his expertise in the peer review process as editor of one of the world’s most renowned science journals. Nature has published some of the most significant papers on climate change research, including those supporting the “hockey stick” graph of historical temperatures condemned by climate sceptics.

Nature is the official newsletter of the Church of Climatology so what Campbell was doing on an independent review panel beggars belief, as does the judgement of those who invited him.

  1. I wonder what the personal views of the panel are on climate change?

    • Well, according to the bloke in charge of the panel all the members were selected because of their impartiality !!!!!

Yeah, right. This speaks volumes. Another whitewash coming up or what?

  2. How can man alter the climate when his days are few and he always remains a speck within a speck in the Universe.
These blokes knew from the beginning that their theory was a lot of hot air, but still pushed forward with their lies for great financial reward. All these fellows will soon be caught out and will have dismantle their church of climatetology in embarrassment.

  3. I see there’s another of this ‘impartial’ hand picked team who must might not be whiter than white – reported at gwpf.org.

Don’t you just love it when the whole ferkin plan falls apart.
