EU Will Not Adopt 30% Emissions Cut

EU Climate Commissar Connie Hedegaard pushed for 30% Carbon emissions cut, it’s not going to happen according to EU Officials

This has to be the first setback for unelected EU Climate Commissar Connie Hedegaard, not satisfied with the 20% emissions cut that is already driving manufacturing business out of the European Zone, Hedegaard has been pushing hard to completely de-industrialise Europe with a 30% emissions cut.

When British Climate Change secretary Chris Huhne was forced to resign from the Government to face criminal charges for Perverting the Course of Justice, Hedegaard lost a valuable ally, since then the dire economic situation in the Euorzone and the epic failure of Green Energy in Germany have damped the enthusiasm to commit economic suicide.

The set back for Hedegaard comes as the Climate Circus holds it’s pre COP18 meeting in Bangkok:

The EU’s current ambitions for 2020 involve reducing emissions by 20% on 1990 levels, improving energy efficiency by 20% and increasing the share of renewables in the bloc’s energy mix by 20%.

In recent months there have been moves for the EU to increase those 2020 targets to 25% or 30%, but a report from the PushEurope campaign group reveals that at an informal session of the UN talks currently taking place in Bangkok an EU official said: “25% is not reality, it is wishful thinking.”

PushEurope also claims the EU official confirmed discussions on the 2020 targets had been closed, so they could focus on emissions reductions for 2030 – meaning that it will not consider further progress on emissions reductions for another decade.

The UN talks were “unlikely to see changes in pledges this year or in other parts of the world”, the official was reported as saying.

The Greens have long said that a suspension of democracy is needed to save the planet, well be warned, Connie Hedegaard is unelected and accountable to no one but other EU Climate Change obsessed zealots, in other words free to pursue her own Liberal Green belief system while jobs are lost, and families across the Eurozone are flung into energy poverty.

Connie Hedegaard is a standing joke of the worst kind. She has no concept of reality, and like all such environmental liberal alarmists, believes these crazy targets are achievable and will not effect anything or anyone else.
